A variant of Murphy's Law is applicable to hazardous technologies: If an abuse of technology is profitable, this abuse will occur. To the scientists, doctors, and ethicists in the the science establishment, money and power is the name of the game. There is already a market for human replacement parts which could be produced by cloning technology.  At present, there is nothing to stop wealthy familes from buying dumbed-down clones of their children so there will be a supply of replacement parts walking around that will always be available for their family.  Such abuses of technology will almost certainly occur unless they are banned NOW.  Once human clones are a profitable business, lobbyists and corrupt politicians will block any regulation.

At present, it would be possible to prevent this "Brave New World" in the U.S. Those Americans who feel that cloning humans is an abomination should ignore President Clinton and his phony Bioethics panel and demand IMMEDIATE passage of such laws by THIS CONGRESS.  end
