LAW OFFICE DESTROYED IN SUSPICIOUS FIRE
One of three articles in winter 1997-98 issue describing threat to nutritional freedom

A fire of unknown origin on November 29 reduced the Law Loft, brick office building and home of Suzanne Harris and Peter Ludwell in Johnstown, Colorado, to a heap of rubble.

Their dog and six cats were incinerated along with important documents, hard-to-find books, files, office equipment, and all their personal effects.

Also destroyed was the Patriot Radio Station KHNC - the American Freedom Network.  The Colorado State Police Arson Squad is investigating.

The fire occurred shortly after research by the Law Loft had enabled International Advocates for Health Freedom and others to persuade the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to remove language from its FDA Reform Bill that would have required the agency to harmonize its decisions on dietary supplements with those of the European Union (EU).

The EU has already moved to harmonize its regulations with those of Codex Alimentarius, an arm of the World Trade Organization which oversees GATT (the General Agreement on Trade and Tariffs of which the U.S. is a party.  Codex is dominated by the interests of German Pharmaceutical firms that have already reduced the potency of non-prescription vitamins, minerals, and herbal products, making some available only by prescription and much more expensive for consumers.

Harris and Ludwell have been devoting themselves to protecting Americans and Canadians from regulation favoring the big drug firms that produce harmful drugs mostly developed and tested by experimenting on animals.

This international conspiracy, Swiss medical historian Hans Ruesch dubbed the "Che-Me-Vi Syndrome" (for chemical-medical-vivisection) is explained in his book Naked Empress or the great medical fraud.   British investigative reporter Martin Walker documents the phenomenon in great detail in his Dirty Medicine: Science, big business, and the assault on natural health care.  Eustace Mullins' Murder by Injection, the story of the medical conspiracy against America covers everything from medical practice controlled by the American Medical Association to effects of chemical fertilizers.

We are all indebted to these and other investigative reporters who lay their own lives and livelihood on the line to share their knowledge with everyone else.  Suzanne Harris and Peter Ludwell are members of this elite group which includes names like Morris Bealle (Super Drug Story) and Dr. Robert Mendelsohn (Confessions of a Medical Heretic) among others.

This couple has been living frugally in quarters at the rear of the now burned-down building, using donations for further research and outreach to alert people to their findings.  They will be unable to continue this work unless they receive financial help.
