The American Anti-Vivisection Society has launched a campaign for the American research industry to use gas permeable tissue culture bags instead of the abdomens of a million animals, mostly mice, every year for producing monoclonal antibodies. The EU recommends that all members adopt this superior, cost-effective method . Germany, The Netherlands, and Switzerland have already done so.
