British badger cull unanimously condemned by European Union delegates to the Bern Convention.  Agriculture minister Jeff Rooker authorized agents to start killing 30,000 badgers in Devon and Cornwall the day before the convention met even though he knew it would be considering his department's intention to wipe out badgers in those counties despite no evidence that cows are more likely to transmit tuberculosis to badgers than vice versa.
